You are cordially invited to Celebration -- A Rite of Passage

The end of the semester, and it's time for the high school prom.  Everyone is here -- the jocks and the nerds; the glee club and goths; the teachers and, of course, the parents chaperoning the whole thing.

But wait -- what are those teachers talking about over in the corner?  What is the Math Club up to?  Who is that new guy in the sharp suit?  What kind of trouble are those nosey kids getting themselves into this time?  And -- oh, God -- look at what the Principal is making people do for the Talent Show!

Celebration is a Live Action Roleplaying Game, running the evening of Friday, January 16th, at the Arisia science fiction convention.  The game will be approximately 4 hours long, starting at 8pm.  Players will portray the students, teachers, parents and other hangers-on at a prom that is -- well, a little different.

As of January 4th, the game is now officially full.  However, we are still interested in hearing from folks in several ways:

If you plan to play the game, please take a minute and fill out the game application. While there may be some slots open at the door, the most crucial roles are likely to be filled well in advance by players who send this in.  Players who sign up in advance will receive character hints at least a week before the convention.  Completed applications should be sent to celebration@waks.org.

Players must be paid members of Arisia.  For more information about the convention, see the Arisia homepage.

Due to some mature themes, this game is not well-suited to players under 15 years old.

Costumes are encouraged, but not required.  The Principal prefers that students attend in black tie, but the goths have never listened to him before...
